Prerequisite:
Make sure your Vibe AI app is updated to version 1.8.0 or later.
Start a recording
Open the Vibe AI app.
On the bottom of Home screen, tap the Record button (waveform icon) next to the "Ask anything..." field.
If prompted, allow Vibe AI to access your microphone.
You can't start a recording if your phone's microphone is already being used by another app (for example, during a phone call).
While recording
On the recording screen, you can:
Highlight — Mark an important moment. The matching part of the transcript will be highlighted after processing.
Pause / Resume — Temporarily pause the recording and pick it back up later.
Stop — End and save the recording.
On the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island (iPhone)
While recording, you can see the recording status on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. From the Lock Screen, you can also Highlight, Pause, or Stop (requires unlocking your phone).
What happens after recording
Once uploaded, Vibe AI processes your recording automatically:
Splits long recordings into separate segments when there are long breaks.
Transcribes and sorts each segment into a meeting or a memo:

Generates a summary for each meeting.
Takes action — If a memo includes a request like "send the recap to the team on Slack," Vibe AI carries it out. (see How to use Actions in Vibe AI)
Use the iPhone Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro and later)
On iPhones with an Action Button, you can start and stop recording without opening the app.
Set it up:
Open your iPhone Settings and tap Action Button.
Swipe to Shortcut, then tap Choose a Shortcut.
Select Vibe AI > Start recording.
How to use:
Press and hold the Action Button to start recording.
Press and hold the Action Button again to stop and save.
